Looks like I get to race Hines Ward

During last year's Ironman triathlon World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Hines Ward announced that he would be training to do that race in 2013. He recently released his schedule of "tune-up" races for the year, and it looks like I'm going to get a chance to race him at Ironman 70.3 Kansas.

He's only done one short race so far, but unless he makes enormous strides, I think I have a shot at beating him. We're both pretty bad swimmers. He'll probably beat me up on the bike, but I should put a lot of time into him on the run.

He's one age group older than me, but we'll probably start within 10 minutes of each other. I'll probably see him on the course at least a few times. I'm already mentally preparing for the dirty crackback I'll inevitably take on the run course.
