Falcons' Mike Johnson suffered a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula; surgery set for next week

Atlanta Falcons right tackle Mike Johnson suffered a dislocated left ankle and fibula fracture during Tuesday’s practice, according to Head Coach Mike Smith.
Johnson is scheduled to have surgery next week. The Falcons will provide an update following the procedure.

I'm saying does anyone know if the Falcons don't have an adequate back up? This isn't trade bait for Albert is all I'm saying. Not every OL injury means we get trades.

it does seem as if key players are getting injured early. shit. we haven't seen but one pre season game from the whole league.

This isn't a fluke, either.

These new bs rules are making it harder and harder for teams to stay in football shape. That combined with this field turf bs and I don't think these injuries are gonna stop.

I'd love to see a breakdown of exactly what type of surface each of these injuries happened on to see if there is a correlation and I'm betting there is.

They should go back to natural grass across the board IMO.

Acl/Achilles tears are gonna happen more than in the past, I think.
