Favorite TV Sitcom: Offer Your Nominations for the Tournament.

We're going to have a tournament to determine Chiefsplanet's favorite situation comedy (hereafter referred to as 'sitcom'). Please offer nominations for your all-time favorites.

For those who don't know what a TV sitcom is, wikipedia describes it as "a genre of comedy that features characters sharing the same common environment, such as a home or workplace, accompanied with jokes as part of the dialogue".

You do not need to specify whether or not the show was filmed in front of a live studio audience.

Final list of nominees. If you see any great shows that are missing, kiss my grits.

Okay, five-minute warning.

The format for this tournament will be a little different. Every day I'll list a poll of five shows and people can pick three. The top three move to the next round.

I pondered that, but I think that animation is merely the mode of production, and they are indeed sitcoms.

Good point, and I kind of agree, or at least that it's a key part. In the golden age thread I downgraded the 2000s because of the substitution of animation for actors.

How is Miami Vice not in the poll?

Are you kidding me. One of the best episodes. When Willy Nelson went after the drug cartels & died in a grave yard. If I remember right

Bad reviews, really? I know it's come under fire for its crudeness but I didn't know about bad reviews. It's currently a hit and the 3rd highest rated sitcom behind Modern Family and Two and Half Men.
