Andy Reid on Charles and Houston

On Rich Eisen Show

Charles day-to-day can only work with training staff but looks really good doing what he's doing.

Positive vibes about Charles being ready to go soon imo

"Houston is going to take much longer than Charles because of when injury occurred."

"we hope to get him back this season"

I was shocked about how doubtful he sounded about Houston.

Houston will be back this season, I have no doubt. I think Reid is playing possum a bit and wants players like Ford to step up. But if KC makes a push for the playoffs, I have no doubt Houston will be in the game...

Tamba is younger than all of those guys. He didn't participate in TC, and after having his knee scoped/cleaned up, he's probably as healthy and fresh going into the season as he's been in quite some time. He has at least one good year left in him.

You keep listing all those guys ages and it's totally irrelevant and has nothing to do with his lack of production at the end of last season.

I think Tamba has probably 2 year left. The knee scope should help with his inflammation, and I think he'll be ready to go week 1 with 7 months of recovery. Tamba is still fairly young, but I still want to stick to the plan for next year.

Draft one of the OLB's from the deep class next spring, be it a 2nd or 3rd rd pick, and let him learn the ropes for a year before taking Tamba's position.

Houston, Ford, Tamba, high rookie draft pick, bulked up Nicolas

That would be nice depth at the OLB next year.

He was ****ing hobbled, hence why he had the knee procedure. He also only had one hand. Let's ignore all that though.

Do you think his knee issues explain his lack of production? Or even houstons?

Those guys all have had more talent and athletic ability to allow them to play at a high level once they drop off a bit.

I remember a report that the hyperextended knee wasn't healing correctly. They found that there were some ligaments that weren't connected correctly, and they had to operate to correct it. Sorry about no link, but was hoping it would jog someone's memory.
