Tony Gonzalez

That's it for Tony G. Hate to see it, but he's going out on top, no slip in his game at all. Best TE ever. Get out before you take one too many blows to the head, or get your ACL shredded. I don't recall him ever having a really bad injury, which is pretty rare. He's a class act, he's bound to wind up in broadcasting if that's what he wants. He seems like a natural for it. At least he got a playoff win.

I still can't believe we blew a ****ing 28 point lead in 2nd half.

Priest's run was so brief that I have a difficult time classifying it. He was very impressive at his best, though. Charles reminds me of Priest in some ways, but I can't put him over Beltran, the definition of a five-tool guy. I probably exaggerated a bit by saying there was a "huge" drop off, but I have Tony G and Beltran behind a velvet rope for the time being.

Gonzalez is the best to ever play that position. He completely changed the way tight ends were used.

To say he's good is a joke.

He's exceptional.

Beltran stood out, not only among Royals, but among baseball players in general. I think even Royals fans are guilty of remembering his later years too heavily, where nagging injuries robbed him of his speed (both foot and bat). As a baseball player, Beltran at his best is better in my mind than Priest or Charles were/are as football players. Tony G is #1 to me because I think he is the best TE in football history.

Let the bitching commence.

I read it as if you were saying he was a better athlete.

I see that now. I should have said "better in their sport".

Now that I think of it, I should throw Jackie Stiles onto that list somewhere. She should be alongside Tony G and Beltran.

wife and I aways said after he retired, we would make a plan to see him inducted *he'll be first ballot for sure*. Either before, or after, we're going to go to Cedar Point and ride some roller coasters.

So, as soon as she heard he was retiring, she was all about planning the trip lol

Gonzo is a first ballot HOFer.

Beltran was a slightly better version of Amos Otis. A good enough player, but c'mon.

Let me guess, your velvet rope only includes two rock bands: The Beatles and Foreigner?

Was his contract up in ATL?

If so I would be trying to get him to suit up for KC for one more season to take a shot at a ring.

If nothing else it would be great for Kelce to learn from the best evar.

His skills are still top notch. If I were a player I would never hang em up with gas left in the tank. When its over you never get to play again ever. You have the rest of your life to be retitred. I would play till I just couldnt cut it anymore. Im sure i would regret it later in life if I left even one season on the table
