I know Ebay uses this type of thing. Is there another service that buyers and sellers use for large online purchses? Specifically, the name/website. I've never made a large onine purchase from an individual, so I'm totally ignorant on this subject.

Same thing happened to me in '03 with about $1600 in Packers tickets.
After involving the local police and the FBI, I finally found out the guy was a broker who claims to have had his entire ticket inventory stolen. About 6 months later, I received a check in the mail for the exact amount from some unknown law office. Hope you get your money back.

I've seen multiple listings on Ebay recently from a guy selling 1st row, 50 yard line seats........says in the listing to e-mail him and all 4 season tickets can be yours for $1000.
I'm sure plenty of people fell for that....the last one I saw there was a reply in the question/answer area from the actual ebay member who said she had no tickets for sale and that her account had been hacked into....... Wonder if it's the same guy? |

I wonder if you were making a purchase of season tickets that you will be able to call the Chiefs and make sure that person actually owned those seats.

Sadly, the entire $4000 was on a student loan. Some may not like the practice, but this purchase was meant to be a way for me to sell them at a profit, then use the profit to pay for my own tickets. I had planned to pay the whole thing back once I sold them. In the end, nothing's changed with my own finances right now except that my student loan payments will be a lot higher than I had planned. |
