I copied this post from the KCSTAR, it was posted by Doug Svuba:

I just got the September 10 edition of the Chiefs Report, which was written before the Titans Game. If you were disappointed in the play calling on Sunday, and you want to remain a Gun fan don't read this quote:

"The bottom line is we're going to run the ball when we can, and when we are in a situation when we need to throw, we're still going to run the football."

There is another quote in this article about how Gun told JR to NEVER throw the ball if they were backed up in their own territory, and just to get in good position for punting.
__________

Looks like Raye is simply following his head coaches directions.

They are all inept. If we do not clean house next season...then Carl should leave. We should have at least 3 new coaches next season. Shaw will be HC. Gun will go back to the booth as a DC...and anyone can replace Raye and stock. And we still need that elusive QB coach that actually played the position.

How does that remark square with this?

That's just it. The man does not know what direction to take. His talk is extremely circuitous at best. How do you think the players translate what points he may try to get across in practice or game-time? Does that scare you at all?

It's Mr. Magoo leading his crew! Gun, Raye, Schotz, and Stock are the NFL's worst coaching staff, (I left out the position coaches) what does anyone expect???

Does anyone remember all the talking that Mr. Magoo was doing when he was first named head coach?? All the stuff about him being a defensive guy SOOOOO HE KNOWS what an offense can do to strike fear in a defense??? Well, I'm so sure that many defenses "fear" the Chiefs offense! ROTFLOMA!!!!

I expect Mgmt (Lamar, CP) to see what is so blatantly obvious to the avg. fan. If CP is oblivious as to what is going on, then I expect Lamar to take over. If Lamar is obliging to the theory that ignorance is bliss, then I expect the fans to stop supporting the Chiefs by not attending home games.

That's what I expect.

That would explain our inability to get one freaking first down to close out the Titans. How well would of play action worked there. Everyone expects the Chiefs to run.

Didn't these quotes come before the first game? It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks. This week the Chiefs have to face Seau, who has always caused us problems in the game. The thing I have noticed that teams have learned to stuff the run this year, not just ours but everyone's. There have only people a couple of guys get real yards 2 weeks in a row, most people who had a a big week 1, failed in week 2, and vice versa. It is simple, when they are defending the run you pass the ball.

On the official site he says the defense is coming along fine, and is headed in the direction he wanted it to take. Weren't they ranked 24th against the run and 28th against the pass? Maybe Gun is a masochist.

He also says that Moreau is getting positive yards every time he touches the ball, and that Cloud will start this week. Both are being outrushed by Grbac.

I really think the guy is losing his mind.

I have heard of a college coach that decided to start punting on 3rd down so they could not lose anymore yards trying to run and still have the wind at there backs before the half. Maybe Mr. Magoo will start doing that soon too. Then he will start bragging that the kicking game is getting better.
