When reports emerged that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson missed practice and traveled to South Dakota due to a “medical issue involving [a] young family member that likely will be a police matter,” several tipsters linked the news to reports from Sioux Falls of a man named Robert Joseph Patterson charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant, who is in critical condition.

TMZ reports that the link indeed exists, and that Peterson’s two-year-old son is in critical condition after being severely beaten, allegedly by Patterson.

Per the report, Peterson’s son suffered severe head injuries.

We continue to wish Adrian Peterson and his family the best as they deal with, if the report is accurate, an unimaginable situation.

I'm not sure the justice system will truly deliver "true justice" to this scumbag.

Peterson needs to get w/ real criminal hitmen and they need to take this ****er out into a field somewhere and need to torture his ass to where he'd be begging to be killed. Then you shoot him in the knees and balls and stab him in the kidneys and let him bleed to death.

Being divorced from my daughters mother, it was very difficult as a father of a baby girl to watch an irresponsible Ex bring other men into her life. I was no absentee father and made sure that I stayed within a few miles of the Ex just so I could be near my daughter.

I recall just one incident where one of the dumbasses my Ex allowed to move in got wasted and started waving a gun around. My daughter got scared and walked about 3 miles to my house through an area I would have preferred my 10 year old girl would not be alone. Needles to say the shit hit the fan and the dumbass was gone. I would not allow my daughter back in their house until he was gone. My Ex knew I was serious and would fight tooth and nail to take my daughter away if things didn't change.

My daughter moved in with me full time when she was 16 which put an end to most of the worry. As a biological father it is very tough to trust Step Fathers to young girls.

This is what a real man does: pays attention to what is going on in his child life and what kind of people are around him/her. The boyfriend here had a rap sheet. Ben Franklin said it best: "an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure"
