Best active NFL player without a ring?

I caught about 10 seconds of some sports talk show yesterday, and they were asking if Donovan McNabb is the best current player to not win a ring. I don't think he's even close, but I liked the question.

I'd go with Tomlinson. Tony G. came to mind, but I don't think he's top 10. Who's on the list?

Based on their personal play alone, TG is more deserving. He also happens to be a better person than Thannon.

Uh, have you ever watched Tony play? There is no question he is an around better tight end than any of the aforementioned. Dude can block, run, catch, is smart as whip and knows the game like the back of his hand. He can also enuncitate, lol.

And who's to say he won't get a ring next year? The Falcons may not have won a playoff game but they did lose the team that DID win it all, plus they were a 13-3 #1 seed. They stand a better chance than most teams.

Yes, I have watched Gonzales play. I do agree that he should be a first ballot HOFer. I also think that Ditka, Winslow, and Sharpe should have been first ballot HOFers. They were not, and there are reasons for that. I believe that the same reasons will make Gonzales a second ballot HOFer.

If you need more convincing, name all the WRs that have been first ballot HOFers (at least in the modern era). There's one: Jerry Rice. Do you think they are willing to claim that Gonzales and Rice are fairly equal?

There's no question Tony gets in first ballot.

The rest of the NFL doesn't think that highly of Tony G.

In the latest NFL Channel top 10 TE's he was 7 or 8.

If he was a former Giant, Cowboy, or Patriot he would be 1.

NFL Network?

On the Top 100 list of 2011 on NFL Network, the NFL Players had him at #46 (probably the #3 current TE).

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-top100-2011

On the All time top 100 list on NFL Network they had him at #45, as the 45th best player of all time, between Mel Blount and Roger Staubach, both Hall of Famers, of course.

Good names for today in the thread, I guess it depends if we're talking greatest as a career or best today. If it's the former, I would add Terrell Owens (even though I can't stand him). If it's the latter, then I would add Nmandi Asomoughah (sp.?) and Darelle Revis, and yes, Ndamukong Suh.
