HBO has given the production order.

They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.

It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.

It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.

More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.

Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn.

So what was everyone's take of the scene with Grand Maester Pycelle and the whore? Specifically, the end of the scene when the whore leaves and he gets off the bed and does some stretches.....he then gets dressed and starts walking all crippled up again. Are we to take from that the man was just feeling good as he got some action or is there a bigger reason at play....does he keep appearances to make himself look like a frail and weak old man when he really is plotting or up to something?

The bolded is my impression, although I think it's less that he's up to something and more that he just wants to be overlooked and underestimated. He's playing the game just like everyone else.

Martin writes like that, he is much more about the results than the details themselves, especially the battles. What you got in the show for battles wasn't much less than what you got in the books.

Yea, I took from that scene that he is just as much of a manipulator as any of the rest of them.

The scene said a lot without beating you over the head with it.

That was the same thing I thought as well. Thought it was in interesting nugget the showed this episode.

I was a little surprised that after Tyrion got knocked out it didn't show anything until he woke up.

I like how the show is more about the power struggle/grab and less about the violence.

Good finale. Will have to rewatch to take it all in. Not sure if it had the power of the previous one though, but killing ed would be hard to stop.

Can anyone help answer, don't care about if it is a spoiler. Did the guy training the younger princess with the piercing sword die or survive? Tried seeing if his was piked but did not see it.

They didn't do a very good job pointing out that it was Lancel (Robert's squire and guy with the wine on the boar hunt) that was naked with Cersei.

(who is also a Lannister btw.....jiggity all over again)
