Troublemaking for Logical

Let me preface all I'm about to say with the fact that I am very fond of Logical. I consider him a friend. He's always been a friend to this website and to any of its charitable efforts as well. I also acknowledge that I have zero authority on this site.

However, I have a real problem with somebody having the ability to delete a thread simply because they didn't like the way it turned out.

According to what I read on Jim's poll (which has since been deleted by him) he used multiple ID's to affect the results. Guntherfan was ostracized for doing that for years.

I don't care how the poll turned out or what the terms of the wager were. I really don't. I enjoyed flipping Jim crap about being a liberal in my posts but I just don't care about that.

What I do find objectionable is his ability to whack his entire threads when it began to turn south on him.

I think the following should take place:
1. The ability to delete threads should be revoked for any thread over an hour old.
2. The threads/polls Jim deleted should be restored.

You should have to suffer some embarrassment but banishment is way too harsh.
Face it that is what we had done to Tom Cash in the past, it is fair.

they can affect their own posts, but not others. can't see ip's or any of that stuff. can move their own threads still, and delete their posts.

We can move our own threads? Huh?

All this technical mumbo jumbo confuses me.

I don't think there have been any intentional additions to their privs aside from the ability to give infractions (which isn't really all that useful). The issue is that Kyle built the supporters group from scratch, and many of the defaults are different than what we've used around here. I've had to actually give them additional privs just to make them equal with the regs a couple times where the defaults were more limiting than we're used to.

Probably but your other behavior doesn't warrant it. If you were a new account it might be debatable but I don't even think this is worthy of discussion.

Yeah, though it's a manual process to move people in there that Kyle has to keep up, so I'm not even sure the group is all that up to date.

You can tell who they are because their usernames are in bold.

I think they should get some kind of super rep power, the money would come pouring in for Kyle then.

Are you sure it's not automatically done? The last time I donated my username was in bold within a few minutes.

Yep - just checked the logs to be sure - Kyle moved you manually.
