I'm actually pretty sure that isn't the case at all. LeBron plays with two superstars who need the ball to be useful players and still managed to put up historic efficiency and value stats. He puts up those stats because he's ****ing good and contributes more in all areas than everyone else does.

Yeah. Remember when Jason Terry stole his lunch money in the Finals last year?

Not Kevin Durant. Not Kobe Bryant. Not Chris Paul.

Jason. Terry.

You're aware that one player getting hot at the right time doesn't change the fact that LeBron is the best and most versatile defender in the league, right?

It's definitely the case. He has to play an assload of minutes. So, his PER his higher. That's really the only reason.

And because the Heat don't have a point guard, he racks up assists, too, so that makes his PER even higher.

Great player, but his PER wouldn't be the same on a good team.

His defense is overrated.

I saw not only Terry do that last year, but Lebron couldn't "effectively" guard Dirk or Shawn Marion, who shot 48 percent in the Finals.

Furthermore, Lebron's amazing, all world defense was nowhere to be found in the last two games of the year. The Mavericks had their way with Miami.

I think he's a better off the ball defender than anything else. This idea that he can shut down anyone in the league one on one is a myth.

Name a player who can shut down anyone in the league one on one.

You are aware, of course, that Durant averages more minutes than him, right? LeBron has better stats because he's a better player that does contributes significantly more in the time that is giving to him. If you want to try to knock LeBron, pick a better argument next time. Pick one that makes sense.

He racks up assists because he's one of the best playmakers in the game and better than just about every PG at making effective passes for scoring opportunities. He would use possessions on just about any team because of how effective he is at doing so. Durant can't touch him in this area. Few can.

Guys as good as Dirk can't be shut down by anybody for any consistent period of time. That's why they are guys as good as Dirk. If that's your standard for a good defensive player, you might want to revise it.

KG has been ripping the Heat apart. Layup after dunk after alley-oop, after dunk, because they have nobody who can match up with his length, except Bosh.

No Bosh and no Finals. Even a half-effective Bosh is going to go a long way towards helping them beat a Boston team that doesn't have much length (other than KG) and doesn't have much depth.

If Miami and OKC play I'll take LeBron on KD over Battier. That's all I know. KD ****ed Kobe up in crunch time. He's getting better defensively all the time. I could really give a shit who's better individually. KD is good enough for me.

It's pointless discussing anything LeBron or Artest related with this guy. He never waivers.

I'm amped up and heading to Bricktown. I haven't been this excited about a game in sometime.

Thunder up bitches!

Durant can't be stopped by anybody consistently, so it really doesn't matter who covers him. Kobe's defense, though, is absolutely nothing compared to LeBron's at this stage, though.

My statement wasn't directed towards the people like yourself that actually admit LeBron is the best player in the game. It was toward those that are incapable of objectivity in this matter due to their sheer hatred for him (and therefore say inferior players are better). There are a great many NBA fans like this.

I'm not going to apologize for being reasonable in the face of the incredible irrationality that surrounds the public opinion with these two players.

The urge to ride Brons knob in this thread is strong. Sure hope the Celtics take the Heat out next game.

There isn't a single player that has all the physical tools that LeBron James has.

Not today, and not in the past.

He is more physically talented than Kevin Durant.

But he has a propensity to come up small in the biggest moments.

I don't want the most physically gifted.

I want the guy that has the heart to finish.

Dirk can't be stopped either...not consistently. You can make things difficult on him but that's about it.
