Nice pick. He was coached by the great secondary coach Corey Raymond who's now at Nebraska.

The Texans are still in the process of rebuilding this terrible defense. So I'm faced with a really tough decision -- I could make a BPA type of pick that could have the most upside for them, or I could forfeit my Draft selection to tie 'Hamas' Jenkins to a wheelchair and unleash him down a steep, well-railed spiral stairway, and spend the endurance of my allotted 12 minutes laughing at him as he incurs countless, mortally serious injuries.

The combination that the Texans have at nose tackle is decent enough, with Okoye who doesn't really fit into the defense, and Shaun Cody who isn't The Guy. Bottom line, the Texans don't have a player they can plug into their goal line defense and take up as many as three blockers along the interior.

On the other hand, 'Hamas' Jenkins is an insufferable douche who, while displaying an impressive flame-war repetoire, occasionally exhibits paper-thin skin which means interacting with him in any manner short of adorning him with praise can be met with scorn and belittlement. So, clearly something needs to be done here, and the Texans think twice about skipping out on the 4th round to mete out some frontier justice on behalf of civility everywhere.

Even considering that inspiring temptation, the Texans defense changes today with a boom-or-bust pick that could yield the best possible results for the defense if this player even comes close to his potential. If this player actually gets a chance to boom, he could actually ascend this defense to heights unknown to them. That's a reward that leaves Texans happy (but still existentially unsatisfied) to allow 'Hamas' Jenkins to remain intact.

The Texans select NT Kendrick Ellis, Hampton.

A lot of good players. I was torn between two who would both be great value. I thought further about it and decided this was the proper route

The Minnesota Vikings select Lance Kendricks, TE, Wisconsin

I watched a lot of Badger football this year, and I really like this guy. He's the perfect bail-out-the-QB kind of TE that Visanthe is not (though he's still good). I think something that would make this offense click in rhythm would be more two TE sets, which they were unable to do all last year. AP needs more blockers and more options to take the pressure off, and this guy will do exactly that. He reminds me a lot of Tony Moeaki, except the Vikings didn't unnecessarily trade up to take him.

Above all, he's a great weapon. Soft hands, big frame, good route-running and a pretty good blocker. He's a pick that will go unnoticed but will make a BIG difference for that offense in all kinds of ways.

When I said the Lions had nothing at OLB, I wasn't kidding. With their selection in the 4th round the Detroit Lions select K.J. Wright OLB Mississippi St.

If I was running the 49ers, I would bring back Alex Smith for another year and see if Harbaugh can do him any good.

I had targeted Ponder in the second, but the Bengals grabbed him first. Dalton and Stanzi were really a flip of a coin for me if they both had been here in the 4th. They are both very smart QBs, with adequate arm strength for the WCO. Stanzi offers better size than Dalton and a little better arm strength. All in all, I'm happy with this pick, and if nothing else, he should be a solid backup QB for a team that literally has nothing at the position right now. Sign Smith, Hasselbeck, McNabb, and if after a year of seeing him in practice, this isn't your guy, then you can grab a guy next year.

I think Harbaugh could really turn this kid into a nice quarterback in his system though.

With their first pick in the 4th round, the 49ers select Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa

Titans have a lot of other needs but there isn't great value here so i'm drafting here to help take the load off Chris Johnson and add a short yardage/goal line back. Titans select Daniel Thomas RB Kansas State

The Cowboys can't have Tony Romo missing anytime. Of course if Jerry Jones would have listened to me the last two years he would have had Charles Brown and Sebstain Volmer protected Romo. Alas he didn't though. Cowboys go back to Jerry Jones's old state to select their future right tackle.

Dallas Cowboys select Derek Newton, OT, Arkansas State
