During the Maverick series some thought he might get fired with his dumbass decisions. Sploestra is piggybacking elite talent and that's it.

You revert to street ball when you lack teammates you can trust. This Spurs roster and system is one of a kind.

Nope, it has happened before when league was more polished and competitive during the 80's to mid-90's

I was referring to now. If you are expecting any other team to function like the Spurs it ain't happening. It's not only the system it's the depth. No team can touch them right now. Teams that want to compete next year need more depth or they will keep trying to beat them with street ball.

No joke, they get system specific players( international players too) which I stated previously in this thread.

Pretty sure you could make the same argument about LeBron being able to average 35+ points a game at will, no?
Who would you take as your franchise QB? Joe Montana? Or Peyton Manning?

Dan Marino? Or Tom Brady?

You're still stuck on the idea that talent and ability are the only things that matter. There is no player in the history of sport with the mental toughness of Jordan. LeBron will and should go down as one of the best players to ever play any sport. That is a tall compliment. But he isn't Jordan. Neither is Gretzky. The Babe. Even Tiger Woods. Jordan is in a league of his own.

You can't ignore that in the year the Cavs went to the Finals, there was only one team in the East with over 50 wins. The west had 5. The Cavs would have had similar records as the Lakers if they played in the West those years.

I'd actually take Marino over Brady. I think he'd have won more championships with those Belichick Patriots teams than Brady did (who hasn't won one in a decade despite some really good rosters).

I don't ignore the fact that the West was better, but LeBron clearly did a lot with very little on those rosters (more than Kobe could ever do, largely due to their major differences in style).

Other than the 08 and 09 season, Kobe with Smush Parker and co. would have done just as well as LeBron did in the East. 42 and 45 win seasons in the West = 50-55 win seasons in the East

I don't know how you've come up with your calculation, but that seems very, very unlikely judging by what I know about Kobe and that Lakers team.

he comes up with it because if your in the east, you get a few more wins automatically due to you playing to a lower level of competition on the grand scale of things.

Kind of like the Chiefs we played a cupcake schedule, Say if we had played the NFC West as opposed to the NFC East, how would that have turned out for us? probably a few more losses.

LeBron won 50, 50, 45, 66, and 61 games on a roster with virtually no help at all. Might be just a little better than Kobe playing 4 games under .500 over 3 years with his shit roster.
