The stupidity of this thread is BEGGING for a simple explanation, but I'm at a loss to come up with concepts sufficiently elementary using words sufficiently small to reach Pwlsmoker.

If they had lost today I would say yes but since they didn't and everybody in this division sucks so they need to try to win the next game.

I don't think any fan would want to tank the season. Whats the point in cheering for a team then if you hope they lose? There is no logic behind that concept.

I would think so too....This begs the question, with how many people are saying they want to tank the season...Are these people really fans or just trollin'?

we've been around the block a few times. When you grow up, you may be a little more realistic yourself. We aren't winning any playoff games with Matt Cassel, not ever. We won today in spite of him.

I'd like to see us finish 1-15, that would give me hope for a future. Talk about real fans? I'm willing to sacrifice a whole season for a better future. That's a real fan right here.

You have to see the bigger picture. I wanted them to tank last year after they started shitty so we could get a franchise QB. Would have loved to get Luck or RGIII wouldn't you?

Yes. But I'm not going to root for something I know the players won't do. Players won't tank, neither will the coaches. Rooting for it to happen is just an exercise in futility.

And I can't pretend to be mad whenever they do win.

Absolutely.

But I knew it wasn't a possibility given what the team actually was and is, mediocre. We weren't set up in a position to get either one of those guys.

Unless, we traded up. Which is something they should of done. But god forbid this team take risks. huh, not a chance. They are pretty conservative. And I expect the same thing to happen again.

*May as well enjoy 8-8 football at the comfort of your own living room. We are what we are, mediocre. Were stuck with a useless, hopeless pussy at QB on a pretty decent team. I have come to the conclusion that all I could do is hope for the best. All I could do is snap my fingers, make a wish and hope that we draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round somewhere and hope for that guy to be one of the better QBs the Chiefs have had in a long long time.

The logic is that we will never win a championship until we unseat Cassel. Therefore, we want whatever will get him out of town the fastest and surest to happen.

Oh, there is the biggest of hopes, the hope of all hopes in hoping that they Chiefs tank the rest of the season.

The mythical franchise quarterback.

I know that most living Chiefs fans have never seen one. And even that one single QB, Len Dawson, was a free agent who wasn't drafted by the Chiefs.

Last year, there were two QB's who qualified - Luck and Griffin. They've given their franchises hope.

This next year, there is

and that, my friend, is what gives me hope. Hope that this team will actually be successful, playoff, Super Bowl successful in my lifetime.

So, yes, in hoping for a tanked season, I am hoping for long term future success of a once proud and successful franchise; a franchise that one was proud to root for, to go to the game, to wear the jersey.
