What do you think we should've done?

Walk into this beyond horrid draft with no QB with NFL experience (playoff xp too) and draft one of the shitty QBs in the class? Or walk in the season with Cassel or Quinn? Seems that way seeing how much people bitch about the Smith trade. Who the **** cares about the 2nd round pick, you're not going to get anyone with any actual talent in this shit draft anyways. Yeah I was a Geno fan but not to start and be the only QB on the roster. Every QB in this draft blows and every QB that we had on our roster blew. We needed a guy and Alex was a great choice.

I would have traded the entire draft for Herschel Walker.

I think it's clear now that getting Alex Smith was probably wise. Joeckel or Fisher were probably the right pick at #1, and I'm not docking the Chiefs for being unable to trade down from a very undesireable 1.1 pick.

Being unable to trade off Albert, however, sours things as it left the Chiefs totally bankrupt in the second round. That hurts.

And spending all your midround picks on role players similarly weakens this team at its most important positions. I would have wanted to see more investments at DL, passrusher, QB, or WR.

Wouldn't Nico Johnson be considered for a starting ILB job?

Yeah, but he's only playing like 50% of your snaps.

See, this is why we suck.

This organization is not willing to ride it out with a young fresh QB with potential for a year or two and let him develop.

We keep bringing in band-aid qb's, Green, Cassel, Smith, bunch of ****ing others, and go with them. Zero playoffs wins in last couple decades going with this methodology.

Alex Smith = Great Choice to you? Welcome to mediocrity son, enjoy 7-9...

I totally agree and it is so bad that it also explains the aggressive FA activity. Reid and Dorsey have been looking ahead before they came here anyway. I don't think any organization has been all that busy mapping out this draft. They've been hunkering down drinking coffee and eating donuts - every organization. One team just got lucky, Minnesota.
