Kansas City Chiefs

Quarterback Brodie Croyle will receive much of the work when the offseason practice begins in May and when the team gets to training camp. That in effect makes the job Croyle's to lose. Coaches would like to see Croyle win it. If Croyle can handle the job, the team can begin the constructing an offense around him. Croyle's arm is strong enough to make all of the necessary throws, and hr has nice touch. The biggest questions involve his lack of size and durability.

By the way I will admit that it is now too late to be getting any quality.

At this point, it's not about money with Allen. It's about the team's problem with his off-the-field behavior vs. Allen feeling like he's being disrespected.

As for locking up LJ, there's no reason to do it. He just set a single-season record for carries. Don't give him the contract until you HAVE to, he might just break down.

And I would contend that there wasn't much quality in free agency to begin with. Edwards was actually one of the better players available.

I would actually submit to all that then save the signing bonus money for another year, remember the Hunts are not willing to have the cash outlays every year.

I think that may be one thing that changes under Clark. We signed Law last year, yet had no problem going right in and getting McIntosh and Harris the first week of free agency.

I vote for a rebuilding year! Herm best attribute is drafting good talent for this franchise. Last year's draft was nothing short of spectacular. Having another comparable draft in 2007 would be huge for future of this team. I see Chiefs breaking into Top 10 in Defense and dropping lower in Offense ranking if we're lucky we might be able to hang on to Top 20.

Perhaps our D will help us win more games, but it will be very challenging with a lifeless, dull, and conservative playcalling offense.

I suppose I would have to vote with you on the "rebuilding" year, Mr. chiefsfan1963. My hopes, as well, are that Hermie Fully Loaded will be able to draft well and field a younger, more fearsome defense with long-term potential.

His statements that our past offense was a "circus" are ridiculous, however. That offense was built around a solid running game gaining first downs behind a great offensive line ... not the deep pass on every down or trick plays or multiple laterals ending up in the fullback's hands who throws to the tackle eligible hanging by a trapeze-trained monkey's nuts.

My basic dream at this point is that Brodie has what it takes and Hermie drafts some good players for us then decides to begin a career as a ball washer at a bowling alley in Encino.

The guys that Carl did sign, other than Donnie Edwards, signed contracts with minimal gauranteed money.

They can all be cut at any time, and the cap hit will be more than managable.

And Even Donnie Edwards only signed for three years, so he can be released after the second year, and the cap hit will also be painless.
