Firefox v27.0

Haven't really used Firefox in a long time but after the latest Chrome update that screwed up the scrollbar and 'X' tab close etc, i went back to try it.

Updated to the latest on the Beta channel, version 27.0 ( http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/ )

So far it's very nice ... for the first time in years firefox has regain the snappy performance and speed that it had a long, long time ago. Scrolling is smooth and quick and page loading is so much better. I haven't check for memory leakage yet.

I had given up on Firefox tbh but this latest version might just bring me back.

On the "x" issue, here's a thread I found about it:

http://productforums.google.com/foru...B26-50-true%5D

And someone suggested this:

Quote:
Go to control panel --> appearance and personalization --> display
Under "Change only the text size", you should see a drop down menu. Choose "message boxes" and then decrease the font size to the right of that. Just mess with it until you get the x on the tabs in Chrome to work again. If you end up making the words too small, then you'll probably have to keep waiting for google to come up with a real solution.

You will have to restart Chrome every time you change the font size to see if it works.

Yeah, that's pretty odd. I'm sure it'll get fixed eventually, but I can't blame you for not wanting to deal with it in the short term.

I don't use Chrome. Ironically, Safari has no sidebar at all until you hover over it and even then, it doesn't have arrows. So to me, the change to Chrome is immaterial.

However, for my mother, who has never used anything other than Windows, it was a huge shock. And from the looks of the InterWebs, she's not alone.

Yeah, that's similar to me - I don't think I've clicked a scrollbar arrow in years - that's what scroll wheels are for. But I know not everyone is like that.

Scrolling with the iMac magic mouse is effortless and you can scroll in any direction your app supports with the same motion, just change direction...
