Instead, he wanted to turn the baddest boozy bluesy rock band this side of guys not named Stones or Crowes into Elton Queen Inch Nails. A damn shame...

As an aside to the GN'R/Crowes connection, rumor has it that Marc was rumored to be a candidate to replace Izzy, but chose the Crowes gig instead. Marc also plays uncredited on Somebody's Knockin' and did the bong intro to Train Tracks on JuJu Hounds. The Sweet Pickle Salad sessions from that era are AMAZING.
