This has easily been my most anticipated film of this year (for quite some time) The trailers have been aces . Just curious about the running time...I've heard/read its set at 163 minutes . Not that is a bad thing at all because I trust the director. Has anyone else read conflicting reports?

I enjoyed it a lot. Not as much as the original, but that's a tough act to follow.

The good:

Well made and well acted. Obviously breathtaking special effects. Thoughtful story that, while a times bit predictable, takes a nice twist at the end. I particularly liked the relationship between the main character and his girlfriend, which I won't elaborate on. Enough nods to the original to be nostalgic without being duplicative. And look for Part III, because it definitely sets up another sequel.

The not so good:

It was probably a bit too long and a little too in love with itself. The score was often too loud and at times a bit jarring - I found myself missing Vangelis' work quite a bit. That's probably my biggest complaint. And the primary villain paled in comparison to Hauer's Roy Batty, but again, those are big shoes to fill. Leto was excellent as usual, but I wish he'd been in the movie a bit more.

Certainly a better follow-up to the originals than the new Alien stuff is.

Anyway, it mostly rocked. Definitely passed the I-Don't-Feel-Cheated test. I recommend it.
