No, trading Billy because we are not in the position to afford a one trick pony that doesn't even do that trick very well.

I have called for a Butler trade for going on 3 years simply because he is a player we can possibly get something for and not miss too much in the lineup.

What is a "one trick pony"? He's a 25/100 .300 guy. Those don't grow on trees.

Billy is being protected in the lineup by .700 OPS hitters. He gets nothing to hit, and rightfully so.

He's slow, he doesn't hit for power consistently, he can't play defense, he grounds into a shit-ton of DP's.......and that was before this year

Trade him to whom? It has to be an AL team for starters...

We've gone through this a million times; Butler is a very, very good hitter, whose value is almost certainly greater to the Royals than to about any other team.

All the reasons you're killing Billyy, which are largely hyperbolic, are also evocative of the reasons why his trade value is marginalized.

I like him and I'll root for him as long as he is a Royal but I think he is a player we need to consider trading
