Ned Yost Hate Thread

This guy is a dickless pussy, and yes I know that is sort of an oxy moron. And yes Ned Yost deserves his own hate thread. This guy is clueless as f*** and George Bush is more suited to be a manager then him. F*** Ned Yost. Right in his ass.

Despite the Royals recent success, Ned is still a horrible in-game manager and needs to be fired at the end of the season.

I will give him credit though. Lately he's been sticking up for this team. He's been better at challenging calls, he's working the umps a little bit, and he's getting tossed a couple times from games for his antics....hey, sometimes that's needed. Previously Yost looked lost, unmotivated, hopeless, looking like a lame duck manager who's counting down the days til his departure. He was out of options, he's fired just about everyone you possibly can in terms of hitting coaches.

Now with the Royals offense coming around and with this current winning streak, he does seem to have more life to him, but who wouldn't?

Still deserves to be canned.

Amazing what some hitting will do for a guys image.

Lets check back at the end of the season and see where we stand.

Right, because you expect a manager who's team is under-performing to be laughing and upbeat.

You dumbasses give baseball managers way too much credit. It's all their fault when they lose but they get no credit when they win? How does that work, CoMo? Why should Ned be fired? He's the one responsible for this winning steak! Can't have it both ways. The players have changed their approach a bit, sure, but that's what major league hitters do. Has little to do with the manager.

Mellinger wrote about that recently.

About how when things aren't going well, fans tend to blame the manager. When the team gets hot, all the credit goes to the players.

The best line from Jim Bouton's book, Ball Four: "Winning is a great deodorant. It covers up a lot of stink".

I don't care about Ned right now. We're winning. He gets the credit.

Yes and it makes little sense. Major leaguers learn to make adjustments if they themselves are good players. If they can't make the adjustment, they shouldn't be on the roster and likely won't stay in the show very long. The manager determines everyday lineups and pitching changes. He has very little effect on how a player performs at the plate. I have no idea why that is so hard to understand?

But then again, I've been stating this same argument on this board for the past two years. If we aren't very good, it's the players who aren't good. If we start winning, it's the players who are good.

SIMPLE.

That's not all they determine. I've gone over this before in the Royals Repository, I believe. They go over game-plans with the hitting and pitching coach on how best to attack the opposing team. They talk to infield and outfield coaches about switching for certain hitters and for certain pitchers and situations,. He, also, makes sure the players are in their best condition before the game.

Most people evaluate managers based on in-game decisions, but most of their work takes place before the game, and it sure showed earlier in the season compared to now. I think Yost is an average manager. I get irritated with him sometimes, mostly for bullpen moves, but all managers make questionable moves. To me, he's average.

This team would have made the playoffs if not for Ned Yost last season.
