"Stoopid" new trend in commercials?

Is there a trend now where commercials try and make you think that giving you what you ask for is some sort of great achievment? The new Jay Wolfe Acura commercial where they say they're different because if you go there you can get the car you want. The idiots they show say "REALLY?". Yeah, because every other car dealer in town is going to tell YOU what car you're going to buy. You don't get the choice.

Then you have the KFC "Wing Station" commercials. "You get to pick the sauce you want", like up until this promotion the sauce was picked by the zit-faced moron behind the register.

WTF is with this? Have we been conditioned to believe that purchasing what we want AND getting it is somehow unique?

I think it's a conspiracy led by NFL referrees to ensure commercials are so stupid you flip to another channel so every referee gets more air-time.

ok this trend was actually started when burger king had the have it your way stuff. If you ask people at mcdonalds to make something different they do. Yeah maybe not all the time, but you know if you say no "insert whatever here" they will take it off with about the same accuracy as burger king without bragging about it. One place that is horrible about getting the wrong thing is taco bell i wanted 2 softshells and a water and the guy blatenly said nacho's bell grande in the mic. I don't really care what you said this is what your getting
