Just got back from Dallas, few observations

Ok, plane just landed and I am back to the office from Dallas and the Chiefs game. Few comments about the game last night:

Positive things I witnessed:
  • "LJ is the real deal", quote from several Cowboy fans in our section after cussing out LJ

  • Offense seems to be on the way back. Untimely fumble really only major mistake other than EK’s crappy start on the first series which he developed stone hands.

  • KC still has a no give up attitude as witnessed on that last drive.
Negative things witnessed:
  • WTF, who called the timeout at the end of the first half? My gawd talk about a brain dead play.

  • You would think once we could catch a break on biting on a trick play

  • I was PO’ed about the running up the middle was because gun kept lining up the LBs on the outside to blitz.

  • Yes the ref missed the holding call on the play before the DJ holding call. Yes the flag on DJ as late and was a judement call, like Lynchs helmet to helmet penalty. But in all reality we did not finish a team again when we had them down. We had a chance to put them away in the first half and didn’t. The fumble, and Surtain’s missed INT were the killers IMO.

  • Yes Tynes needs to make that kick, I praised him when he makes the kick, he needs to shoulder some of that loss.

  • Also if anybody noticed after the incomplete pass and before the flag on DJ that Bledsoe took off his helmet in frustration of what he thought was a lost. I though that was a penalty?

Things only things Texas Stadium has over Arrowhead:
  • Cheerleaders
  • Home team introductions
  • Half-time entertainment
  • Sound system

That’s it; it was actually kind of sad that a few times the KC fans on D equaled the Cowboys fans in crowd noise. Without the annoying sound system blaring DEFENSE, with artificial crowd noise, there was not a whole lot of noise. Only in a few situations, nothing compared to Arrowhead, not even in the ballpark. One Cowboy fan tried to compare the two the Chiefs fans in our section got a chuckle out of that.

There is nothing like the Arrowhead game atmosphere.

Ok just some random observations:
  • Yes there where a lot of Chiefs fans at the game my guess is around 20% of the stadium. One of the funniest moments was during the anthem “and the home of the ... CHIEFSSS” drowned out the rest of the stadium

  • Please KC no dome football stadium; football needs to be played outside.
  • Oh a few cowboy fans in our section asked if would be willing to trade LJ to them

Lastly it would have been better if we could have won, it would capped a great day. Saw a great game in great weather and had a great time going back and forth, in good fun, with the Cowboy fans in our section.

Great post! A lot of what you saw, I agree with completely. I'm doing my best to make the Chargers game, if not that one than the Cinci game. This will be the first time I'll have been back in MO during the season in a LONG time.

  • Obviously Cowboy fans are idiots. It is clear that LJ is the reason we lost. He has no heart.

The Texas Toilet PA system actually irritated Bob Dole.

If your shitty bandwagon fans can't make the ****ing noise, then you shouldn't have any. While it may not be technically against the rules to crank the PA to distortion volumes when the visiting team is in the huddle, it's certainly lame.

The Cowboy fans were all decent, at least. Bob Dole even caught quite a bit of good-natured hell for his Chiefs sweatshirt at Grapevine Mills today.

Yes it was pretty lame playing music while in the huddle, although most stadiums do it, and that inserted crowd noise was pathetic. The loudest I heard the stadium was for about 3 minutes or until 3rd down in the 3rd quarter when we pinned inside the 5. Even then it wasn't too bad. But the music and announcer sounded clearer than the single woofer and tweeter that they have at Arrowhead.

You think maybe the half-ass toilet seat roof has anything to do with it?
