Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

I didn't care for his dink and dunk too scared to throw it down field play; but he is one of only 5 Chiefs QBs to ever win a playoff game. I rank him right behind Steve DeBerg.

I think, ultimately, a lot of people don't believe he did do the best he could.

He had all of the physical tools and experience required to be an elite QB, which always made him more frustrating to watch. No one gave a shit when Brodie Croyle or Damon Huard sucked because they just didn't have it. The only thing holding Alex back was himself.

If he wasn't such a pussy and just let it fly from time to time, he'd be remembered more fondly here.

Alex Smith was an average QB with certain strengths and weaknesses but he came here and did best he could. It worked out long term which is what Reid was looking at, the big picture, not the small one. There's no reason to be a weirdo like the nerd Clay and hate the guy.

And you still have to defend your boi like he’s a member of your family.

Most of you Alex nerds were annoyed we drafted Mahomes, and especially mad when he took the job all while Rooting for him to fail.

Sorry.

He drove Niners fans crazy with his dump offs. After Joe Montana and Steve Young, we were used to offense - real offense. He showed he had it in him to do, at times, but he was just way too cautious.

Funny though, I was talking to a guy from Missouri yesterday, started out talking about Joe Montana. I mentioned I had rooted for the Chiefs in the playoffs when Joe was QB there, and that I tried to catch all the Chiefs games when Alex was there.

He said he liked Alex Smith. I was a bit surprised.

He was always a huge sources of controversy among Niners fans.

You advocated for Geno Smith and his "Chocolate Penis" that you loved referencing so often.
