I know this is common knowledge but man, NFL network draft coverage is soooo much better than ESPN. They really spent time breaking down the Jackson pick with detailed analysis, showing what he'll be asked to do as a DE in the 3-4 and how he'll excel in that position. On ESPN you get Mel Kiper complaining when the draft doesn't fall in line with his big board, no real analysis, just Mel saying, "I don't like it, this is a reach."

Herm was spectacular on ESPN. (NOT!) Glad he is gone. Dude talked like he didnt know what football even was.

Problem with ESPN's coverage is its basically just Berman's regular team, plus Mel Kiper whose only function is to grouse about how the pick doesn't fit on his board.

Mayock is much more able to give a detailed analysis on the player and his skills, while I think Kiper relies way too much on the combine numbers in believing that overall athleticism converts directly.

The worst thing about NFLN was Gruden's hair. What has he done?

Absolutely have no idea what Keyshawn and Steve Young are doing on a draft show.

But then switched over to NFLN and Gruden couldn't keep track of which teams were taking which players, Mariucci is as boring as Steve Young, and Rich Eisen is somehow worse than Berman. Then you get Jamie Dukes, Billick, and Ron Pitts, who at one point claimed that only one CB had been taken when Vontae Davis had just been taken about 5 picks earlier.

My kids were literally rolling around on the floor at the end of the telecast when they were playing camera tricks. So much more entertaining than blabbermouth Berman. I can't stand him. He might be the single-most annoying voice in sports.

They came back before the pick was made. ESPN is famous for going to commercial during Chiefs picks and then coming back with just a blurb on it after the pick was made. I remember when we picked LJ they went to commercial before the trade was announced then went to commercial again when the Chiefs actually picked.
