Movies and TV Transformers question

So I'm watching the first Transformers movie and I noticed again that Megatron transforms in the Hoover Dam into some sort of jet and flies away....I was thinking when I was a kid and had transformers wasn't Megatron a gun? Why the change? And wasn't Bumble Bee a VW Beetle?

The gun was eventually seen as too "scary" for kids. They changed him into a jet-kinda-thing.

Well, if Megatron had transformed into a gun, it would've been a pretty anticlimactic movie, 'cause they would've been able to just bend down and pick him up, LOL. Movie over.

(As for Bumblebee... they're all American cars in the films. Which is the biggest stretch of belief in the films, 'cause if they Transformed into American cars they'd probably sit there and not start or something....)

It was due to Bay said he didn't want to "cheat" when it came to shrinking into a gun instead they used Cybertronian Jet that was on scale with Megatron size and dimensions.

ya, that movie was gay. They made it appeal to kids just to reap in more money. I hate Big Summer Movie Blockbusters.

If you notice at the beginning of the movie there is a yellow VW beetle sitting next to the Camaro in Bernie Mac's car lot.

He went away from a gun decades ago because parents bitched..

Bumble bee is not a VW because Chevrolet footed most of the money and all of the autobots are Chevy's now..
