Trust me, I'm expecting very little of Jenkins, but in all fairness, the kids only played in 3 games. Baldwin's sample size is a lot bigger and has shown ZERO improvement in his game. At this point, AJ's ceiling is slightly higher than Baldwin's, but that's not saying much

Agreed though, the OL and blitz pickup were issues at times. A couple of times, Alex should have been able to make something happen... no free pass for him. But some good throws and some awful drops. Overall, just a dissatisfying game 2 from the offense.

Since he only played in 3 games last year, my guess is that you have not seen him play very much either. He came in Friday during the 2nd series. Played damn near every play up until the mid 3rd quarter range. Didn't look all that bad with his effort in both route running and blocking assignments. Much better than the guy you just got from the Chiefs.

I would think that the failure of the QB to get him the ball would also play into whether or not he had a catch.

I'm thinking this whole "he hasn't had a catch so he sucks" mantra being portrayed here by the 49er fans is just their way of trying to come to grips with the fact that Lord Harbaugh may have (1) made a bad draft pick and/or (2) a poor trade for Baldwin.

At least we have had poor QB's hit Baldwin in the hands or between the numbers and know that he can't catch.

I do believe that BOTH will benefit from their new environment. Kaep will be the target of many blitzes this year with the way he roams around in the pocket thus needs a big target to throw hot routes. Jenkins will benefit from a more WC style offense.

Who benefits more will soon be determined. However, I believe that Jenkins will benefit more because he will be part of an offensive scheme versus just a chance throw by a QB that may be in trouble in the pocket.

My .02 cents.
