TAfter the Rooney rule. I don't understand the debate. Black coaches aren't getting college jobs. The NFL has had a ton. The rule has worked. And again, nobody forced these gms to hire black coaches. Just to interview them.

I remember people complaining about how Art Shell deserved a head coaching job around 20+ years ago. He was a good cordinator but not a good head coach. The end.

Maybe the NFL should just pay reparations to every black coach in America so we can stop looking backwards all the time and instead look to the future...
The problem in the NFL isn't race, its a lack of quality coaching. The disparity in football lies between the teams that can pay big bucks for a coach and those who can't. The real problem is in college football where some schools can pay coaches competitive wages with the NFL and those who can't. |

20 years later, your resume is 20 times better. And it's not because you're smarter or more qualified. That's the heart of the Rooney rule. Again I think it's out served its purpose and I hate that the NFL would mandate hirings. But the Rooney rule was a great one early on. |

The only adjustment needed is to get rid of it. The Rooney Rule does a disservice to black coaches (who are 99.9% of the time interviewed just to fill a quota instead of being given a serious look) and wastes everyone's time.

As well as team presidents. You notice you never hear anyone complain about white punters and kickers?

I think the Redskins and the Chiefs should be required to interview Native American coaches...

I think teams should be required to bring in white wide recievers and running backs.
