Running my 2nd 5k tomorrow morning. Between Jogging and cross-training, my body is really starting to tighten up and develop. I suppose at age 39, I'm having to work a little harder than when I was 19. I like where this is going though.

My big challenge now is trying to avoid buying new clothes every time I'm in a store. Self esteem is a mother****er.

I was able to exercise for the first time in almost 8 months yesterday. Just did some stationary bike yesterday - didn't make it very far, which is discouraging. But the treatment for some severe allergies and asthma seems to be working as I was actually able to breathe throughout the ride and didn't spend the next four hours trying to catch my breath.

I hope I'm on track now... change in job has royally screwed my diet (traveling a lot now) and physically being unable to exercise means I've gained a lot of weight, my blood sugar is all out of whack. And as you all know, once you get going down a path, it's very easy to just say "**** it" and be unhealthy for a long time. I'm so much heavier now than the first year this thread came about. At one point that year I dipped just under 220. That looks a long way away right now.

Whenever you travel, you just have to make time to exercise. Most hotels have gyms now, or there are some great resistance exercises that you can do in your hotel room.

I know that we usually only do this thing for 6 months.....but I vote that we keep this shit up throughout the year. To many times we work out for 6 months and then we come back in January of the next year.....just as unhealthy as we were the year before.

I fully intend on doing what I'm doing for the rest of my life, making adjustments as necessary for age.

Some of us have been doing this for 4 months now, but some of us started like 4 days ago.

Tomorrow I'm starting 23/1 fasting through thursday. Then on Friday I'm doing a complete fast. Going to see how good of a loss I get for Saturday.

This last week I gained 0.2 lbs for the week, which was the first time I've gained weight in 17 weeks.

I'll probably gain a lb or two in the course of 2 days, it will come off by the end of next week.

This is how the last few weeks have gone for me...

Saturday Weigh in
Sunday - Even
Monday - +.5 lbs
Tuesday - +1 lb
Wednesday +.5 lbs
Thursday +.5 lbs
Friday - Even
Saturday (next weigh in) - Down 2-3 lbs.

Rinse, repeat every week.
