I have chatted with him quite a bit in the past though and highly respect his opinions.

I've talked with him at camp and have donated to charity functions he has participated in.

He has the respect of the players and has access to players and mediaembers both on the practice field and behind closed doors.

His player interviews in the past have been uniquely insightful and I can tell you right now that while at camp he can tell you nearly everything about the coverages and personnel that is on the field and if he sees something out of whack, he interviews players about it and generally get really insightful answers.

Not sure where else to put this, but I spoke with my "source" last night (it's no secret who it is). He feels that the Chiefs have all the pieces in place to at least win the division, barring Manning magic. Thinks the running back combo is going to be a beast and defense will be excellent. The one question mark, of course, is Cassel, but thinks that he should be able to at least manage a season similar to his "pro bowl" year.

I hope to God Cassel can prove us all wrong and that it was indeed Haley that was the overall problem.

Cassel still has to learn to be more accurate when throwing 15+ yard passes. This starting roster is stacked with talent...I just hope Cassel doesn't fall apart....the season truly does rest on his shoulders, granted no one gets seriously injured.

But injuries do happen like we all know.

I actually hadn't been following TC much at all (and neither has he currently, as he's going in next week to really start "work" in earnest), so neither of us brought that up. I realized this morning that was the burning question on everyone's mind, so I wish I would have thought to discuss.
