OK, so the Mrs. and I are coming to KC for the U2 concert.

Looking for some advice on what area we should stay in.

Not really looking for convienence to the stadium as I already have a parking pass. Looking for the best areas in terms of shopping, hotels and restaurants.

I think the Plaza is a touch overrated.

Plus been there and done that. My wife isn't really all into the fancy over priced shit.

I'd say Overland Park / Town Center area.
lots of shops in a pretty compact area. Though, probably 15 miles from the stadium or thereabouts. few miles down the road from Jack Stack, and really close to OK Joe's.
Aloft Leawood and walk to everything, or Sheraton in OP/Convention center just down the road from Town Center (hotel shuttle maybe?)


....no idea on the $$ of those places, however.

Kinda what I thought as well. Overland Park is very kid-oriented and it doesn't sound like that will be a factor, but tons of development with all the money that area has to burn.

Crossroads area has some interesting stuff popping up, so that might be worth a look. Downtown hotel, start the day at River Market, explore on the streetcar from there.

I stayed in that hotel across from the stadium my friend found it for cheap. But I'm sure someone on here will have better places.


No Other Pub by Sporting KC was a good place when I went to KC last year.
