Peters Suspended

One game. Per Andy.

Summary from Andy (paraphrase) : Best for organization. Talked to Peters. Difficult to do as I like Peters.

You would have to make it "0" guaranteed money and an "at will" employment status to even consider resigning him.

Or maybe he's just being a monumental asshole.

If it's the latter, I suspect you're right - he'll be moved. But if they don't trade him, I won't excoriate them for it. They have insight that we don't.

The whole thing just doesn't make sense. He shouldn't just be coming apart like this. Was Berry really that critical to keeping him focused and tuned in to the game?

That's not missing, though.

Have you watched the lockerroom speeches from Houston this year? He's saying the same stuff and I have to believe he carries similar weight.

I still think the problems on the defense are largely personnel related; just too many guys that simply aren't capable of doing the job at this point. Too much aging, too much attrition and not enough attention has been paid to that side of the ball while we tried to straighten out the offense over the last several years.

But Peters individually, OTOH, may well be struggling because he no longer has Berry in his ear. Berry could easily have been his rock.

I don't think Berry's emotional presence is to blame for this defensive tailspin (though losing his ability on the field is hurting us a great deal). But if you combine the loss of his ability with what it's done to Peters, it may be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

He walked off the field and stopped to give his gloves or something to a fan while being escorted by a member of the Chiefs staff. I think there was general confusion about him being ejected or not. Why wasn't there any assistant or staff member trying to talk to him about NOT being ejected? Why did he run back onto the field without socks?

I was listening the game (Jets radio) and the announcers were surprised when Peters came back out. They thought he had been ejected.
It was posted that way all over the place, I think the refs even thought he was ejected.

Peters comes across as a guy that can't handle a ton of losing. One or two games here or there...sure. But not this many games in a row. Not like we've been losing them.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't seek out fixing actual double standards that exist. It just means people should hold themselves to standards and then they wouldn't have to worry about any potential bullshit. Peters doesn't get suspended if he didn't have prior outbursts, some of them selfish.

Whether it's unfair compared to kelce or not doesn't absolve Peters of his behavior. He can blame himself for the state he is in. "Well other people do it" is a defense that should be left for teenagers that don't get real life yet. Watching adults use it makes me feel sorry for them. Just not mentally capable of being a responsible adult.
You are missing the point. No one is excusing MP. But if you have two teenagers, and they both miss curfew, and you punish one, but not the other, there are going to be hard feelings there. Even if you build the case that well:”one of the teenagers has missed curfew 10 times, while the other has only missed curfew 5 times, they both did the SAME thing so both should be punished accordingly on Chief. Either both or neither.

Peters comes across as a guy who cant handle the local food joint giving him a medium fry instead of the large fry he ordered.

I think it definitely carries more weight, especially to Marcus Peters. Houston has given up on Peters. In NY, he just sat on the field and watched Peters go loko.

I think he talked to Andy this week
