If Smith performs even moderately well, there will be calls for "apology threads," and Geno will be proclaimed a bust if he's not a Pro-Bowler in year one. Never doubt the stupid. |

The Geno love being overblown is bullshit. Fact is most are not objective because they cant separate the past from now. Bono and Smith are equal. |

But no. That's also a horrible comparison. K-State was a top 5 team IIRC and WVU was around 12th? San Fran was largely regarded as a team that would make the playoffs and despite their first 2 games, most were impressed (mainly by Alex Smith's game against, who guessed it, the Greg Williams and the New Orleans Saints defense) while KC was regarded as a team that wasn't expected to do much at all coming off their previous season. So no, it isn't at all like "Geno vs. K-State". |

There are people who would still draft Sanchex in a re-draft under the premise that "at least we tried!"

The point of this question is what?
A player had some flashes in years one and two and then seemed to sputter. It's unlikely, in my view, that he resurrects his career. That said, we cannot immediately assume that just because a player fails or succeeds in one place that the failure or success is translatable to all franchises. Works both ways for good and bad. |

I didn't get exactly what pick it was, but was told the Dolphins improved it over their original offer, which is why Albert was allowed to talk contract.
Whether the initial was a 3rd or something else, I'm not sure.

However, you comparing that game to the 49ers vs. Chiefs game is beyond ignorant and hilarious to me. |

I'll have to agree with Dane. I'd still take Sanchez. He isn't a fit in NY and the Jets are a damn circus.
As much grief as Alex Smith pre Harbaugh gets, Sanchez hasn't had much in terms of a QB friendly coach. |
