They definitely pulled their foot off of the accelerator. It could have been much worse. I think they didn't want to give KC any additional fodder/fuel for a possible playoff matchup. Stomping a mud hole into a team that ran it up on you is sahweet justice/catharsis

I'm tired of hearing how quarterbacks are out playing Mahomes. No mother ****ers they are out playing our putrid defense but Mahomes leads the league in touchdowns.

If we're talking about the season to this point, no other QB has outplayed Mahomes at all. You wouldn't know it from the media narratives though.

Apparently we're allowing something like 8yds per play.

The only team to average 8yds per play was the 2007 Patriots which are thought to be one of the best offensive teams in history.

So, essentially, our defense makes everyone look like the best offensive team in history.

This article is interesting and reminds me of the Greg Robinson defense that even the President joked about at the time. IIRC it was the 2003 team under Vermeil but could be wrong.

To me it looked like they were just running low efficiency plays at the end, and they were still turning into big plays. This defense is ridiculous. But I still have faith in the team.
