Then you have no business making any comment about Alex Smith at this point in time.

It's really not that big of a deal. We can manage that just fine for one season.
That would be an annual average not what he actually makes in a year. That is the reason most contracts especially these 100 million dollar contracts are back loaded. If you look at those contracts that have been signed there are years at the back end with numbers so large that the players will not see those dollars. Before we ever get that far he will be released and all we will have to take a cap hit on is the remainder of his signing bonus/guaranteed money.
HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Smith is the best QB KC has had since Green and he just had a better first year in KC than Green did. If you would have watched him, you would know that. You would also know the Chiefs can win with him. In any case, you're entitled to think how you want...

That is silly. You can know a great deal about a topic, even if your knowledge is not first-hand knowledge. Most formal education is based on information which is relayed to the student from a source- not based on whatever the student has witnessed personally. Or do you think history teachers are all full of shit?

But hey go ahead and take your "I didn't get that shiny QB that I wanted even if he wasn't worth a shit in the opinion of a coach that has a history of making QBs better.

I think his statement had more to do with looking at Smith with a critical eye.

You've given up all pretense of objectivity. You said you "hate" him.

I believe Smith is the best QB KC has had since Trent Green. I still don't think he is a top ten QB in the NFL, and I still hate the trade. I don't believe Smith is the type of player to build a franchise around.

If Smith is the best Chiefs QB in a decade, it really just speaks to the garbage the Chiefs have had at QB- not to Smith's absolute value.

You cannot truly believe that education is the same thing as this. Educating someone is based on material and evidence that has been around for long period of time. It is not a "judgment" type of thing.

You are relying on 2cd hand information that is being judged by people that have agendas they want to push.
By not watching the games for yourself with your own eyes you can't make a good judgment about Alex Smith.
That would be like not watching Trent Green after he proved he could play and then complaining about how you don't like him based on his previous play that you have seen. You didn't get to witness the growth for yourself so now you believe there simply could not have been any.

If any of this is true, the Chiefs are just against any type of long term success and winning. It has been ages since they had a really good QB. They now have a someone who is good in every aspect of what you want in a QB. Smart, tough a coach on the field. He can run and has the ability to play big in big games. He is a leader in the community an good for everyone in KC. He just turned 30 years old an doesnt have a ton of tread on the tires. Give this guy his money, he deserves it and the Chiefs have been cheap enough. They can afford it an it wont deplete their talent pool.

Its a travesty that this is even being discussed, its always something with the KC Chiefs and the QB situation.

I thought that was clear by letting our O line go to $3it and giving him no new targets in the passing game...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
