I could go for Largent as Commish. My cousin, Terry Beeson, played many games with him... and can attest to his being a true stand up guy...

My other cousin who played pro football, Lynn Dickey... is also a standup guy, except when he played for the packers, he was always sacked on his ass.

I don't think a former player at both commissioner and union head is a very good idea.

I think they need someone a little more separated from the players for the commissioner role.
