Off-Season

If the Chiefs do all of the following during the off-season, I guarantee next season will be great.

Resign all players. (Except the following players I list)

Hire Al Saunders as HC and keep Gunther workin' the defense. Get any other decent Offensive coordinator that will keep the same system that this offense has had for years. Saunders will still kind of be the OC while being the HC.

I know Shields and Roaf both might retire, so lets say just Shields retires. Replace him with our 1st round draft pick. If Chris Bober or John Welbourn end up being better than the pick start them at guard.

If Priest retires (or can't play) I think LJ will fill that role very nicely. If he does come back he'll be a good third down back or possibly even play some WR from time to time. It's not like our WR's are any good.

Trade Kendrall Bell! Throw in a future 2nd or 3rd round pick with him and get a solid DT to play along with Sims. This won't affect our defense because Bell doesn't do that much and we can do a 4-3 with Shawn (if he comes back), Mitchell, and Johnson.

In the second round draft a FS or CB to help out our secondary a little. If we cut down the big plays and Gun can get them to start playing with passion out there they could be solid.

I ,for one, am being very positive about next season. I really beleive they can get deep into the playoffs!

So you want to trade Bell and give up picks with him........that is extremely flawed. Not to mention keeping Gunther. Why can't we just clean out the damn d staff? We haven't had a good d in years all these guys should be gone.

I agree with that, Gunther has to go. And who's going to trade for Bell? The guy played like shit this year and is in line for a huge bonus. We won't get anything for him.

spend 1st pick on O-lineman, replace Roaf after next year
