Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Anyone have a recommendation for a decent and inexpensive gun safe? I'm looking for something that is reliable, quickly accessible, and can fit more that just a/one gun. It's mainly to keep kids (teens) out. I would like to be able to store my 9mm Ruger and perhaps another one that is similar sized or slightly smaller plus perhaps a few small documents, credit cards. Suggestions?

I have a SpeedVault biometric by GunVault. That one just holds one gun, but they make a few other box-type biometric gun safes - http://www.gunvault.com/biometrics.html/

Mine works great.

Magnum Research, Inc. has partnered with Cabela’s to offer four new designs to their Desert Eagle 1911 line of pistols.

The first two models are the .45 ACP Desert Eagle 1911G and Desert Eagle 1911C pistols, model numbers DE1911GSBCAB and DE1911CSBCAB. Both models feature a precision-cast frame machined from carbon steel and a slide machined from solid steel billets, and both sport a matte black finish.

The “G” model is a full-size 1911 with 5-inch barrel and 8.625-inch overall length (OAL), while the “C” model is a commander-size with 4.3-inch barrel and 7.87-inch OAL.

These two models also incorporate an exclusive gray frame treated with a high-temperature ceramic Cerakote coating and are accented with black appointments. Either model is available now for $948.

The other two new models in the Magnum Research and Cabela’s offering are similar .45 ACP Desert Eagle 1911G and 1911C pistols, model numbers DE1911GCH and DE1911CCH. However, these models (pictured below) feature a case-hardened steel frame developed using Turnbull’s bone charcoal process. Either model is available now for $1,120.

Anyone have a Browning A5 shotgun?

Have a chance to buy one for $100 from a neighbor.

By the age of the serial number, it appears to be made in the 1930s.

Good or bad vibes?

thanks

Great old autoloading shotguns - Slower than some of the 'superslick' new autoloaders, but should work forever w/a little maintainance. They made a lot of 16 gauge models - about the only 16 I'd consider. I've grew up hunting with the A5's 'clone', a Remington model 11. I'd ask to go shoot the gun w/the owner - if she fires and ejects shells + loads a new shell, it's worth $100.

I do. I hunt snow geese with a 100 year old Remington Model 11. Rem's version of the Browning A-5.
Your stealing it at that price,if the bolt or receiver are not cracked?
This is old old technology,& you have to swap the compression ring around depending on heavy or lite loads. messing this process up will ruin this type of auto loader & make LIVESTEAM very unhappy.

anyone here think that a LaRue rifle is NOT worth the money? I'd love some honest opinions on their rifles because they are pricey.

Ive read a few threads over on The high road.org. My understanding is, they are the best of the best. For that kind of money they better be

My GIL gave me a 60's model Browning A5 12 gauge. I've only used it twice but it was a sweet shooter. One gun I'll never sell.
