****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

LOL.....that's a first. It's actually my nickname from high school. I grew up in a small town called Mosby just outside of Excelsior Springs near KC.

My old HS Basketball Coach stuck me with the nickname as a Freshman.

His brother was a traitor anyway. Judging from his athleticism and offer sheet, Brandon Lee looks like one of the better outstanding targets.

Anyone have any information on Roderick Johnson or Jeff Jones?

I've been told that it was worse than that; Markel tried to commit (today), but Mizzou didn't have a spot for him (period). I don't understand it or like it, but that's what happened. Hope we still want Wingo.

I thought of you last weekend. I was having dinner with a family friend and I found out that she lived in Mosby during her childhood before her family moved to Liberty and she finished school there. She's only the second person I've ever encountered from your tiny town. If I knew her maiden name, I'd PM it to you to see if you knew her, but I only know her by her married name.

MU's had problems over there that go back years. As in prior to Pinkel and by a long shot.

We don't have a spot for a good but not great prospect with qualifying issues. We have spots, though.

Specifics? I mentioned this earlier, but I've heard this shit for years with no real confirmation, with crazy ideas being thrown around from it being related to Norm being a racist (which makes no sense) to ADs in the early 80s.

You'd be surprised how many of my old Mosby friends I know by their married names now.

PM me her married name....there are really only about 4 people who moved to Liberty from Mosby.

In general when Pinkel arrived there were relationships to repair with coaches all over the state. Previous regimes didn't keep promises made and burned bridges all over the place, not totally unlike some of what Ron Prince pulled w/ respect to KS h.s.'s. They've done that w/ success everywhere else in the state but less so in STL. Supposedly Darren Sunkett's one of the ringleaders spreading smut all over town on MU. STL guys don't get a fair shake, aren't taken care of, etc. IDK...the thing is it's not based in reality in terms of how things are today but the rep remains in certain circles or so it's said to be.

And yes racism too involving both football and hoops which as you said makes no sense.

I don't think it's players so much as "football leaders" in the area (Dem. Johnson is a name you hear a lot connected to that). I know Steeples talked quite a bit of trash about Mizzou after transferring to Memphis.

Still don't like it. The RBs we have are great, but this kid is a highly-ranked STL kid that wanted to come to Mizzou.

But if you bring him in and bury him, even more damage is done.

They were in a tough spot. The bottom line is that they'd have probably taken him had he committed before Trevon Walters....but he didn't. Witter looks like more of the HR hitter back that the Tigers prefer anyway.

You hate to see it, but I don't feel like Mizzou did him dirty here - they were honest with him and he'll likely get a better shot at PT in Iowa.
