I will give 2.
Teenage Fanclub - This Scottish outfit frickin' rules yet sadly has never gotten their due here in the States. These guys probably fart melodies & harmonies. Coyote Shivers - This LA based rocker is one of a kind, think Iggy Pop for the next generation. His 1st album is more gnarly than mud tires. |

I have heard of the Beat Farmers but had never actually heard their music. Gun sale at the church was sweet, good time rock. If you like those guys check out Jason & the Scorchers, in the same rockabilly vein.

This is old skewl, but I'm old skewl too, so here goes--
Blackfoot. I worked with them back in 1975, and they kicked A$$. They were the tightest band I'd ever seen. They never really broke out, unfortunately. Funny related story- they rented my band's lights for a weeks' worth of shows at the Cabooze in Minneapolis in 1975. At the time, Ruby Starr had just started singing lead for them. I stayed backstage, and had 2 jobs- one was to hold the electrical breakers in permanent ON mode (they keep tripping, so they had me just hold 'em down and keep 'em down. Dang, they got HOT. The other job was to hold the horn cabinet in place while Ruby got on top on the PA. As you can imagine, I got quite a view. Then when the show was over, we played Blackfoot in Foosball while Ruby drank Jack straight from the bottle. Z

Another old skewl band I forgot about. BABY. "From Deep in the Heart of Texas- Baby kicks A$$." (not to be confused with The Babys).
Again, this would be mid-70's smokin' rock. They used to play the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA every few months, and WOW they were good. They also never really made it big, but they should have.... Z

Wow, Country Dick sounds like he was right out of Spinal Tap. Thats prolly the way all drummers should go, in some wild rage on stage in the midlle of a set. |
