Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

That said, the patriots probably did deflate the balls. I'm just saying you can't argue for any punishment, now, because who is to say that the refs didn't approve balls that were already deflated?
Or maybe the NFL didn't deem it necessary to log the PSI before every game because they test them before the game and assume that people aren't going to **** with the balls after they're approved.

It can't be the standard just for this Pats game. We'd have to see a log book of all the refs doing all the games for it to be what we weigh this blame on.

I can believe that this was done by equipment people that know what Brady wants. I can accept plausible deniability. I know there are people on this forum that would do some shady ass shit to ensure our Chiefs a Super Bowl berth out of love. I can only imagine the passion is even greater inside the inner core.

I don't need heads to roll. But the organization should be smacked. I would say the same thing no matter what level the cheating was found on. Even if someone changed the opposing team's lemon Gatorade to cherry.

And the NFL needs a new leader. Maybe a chick.

It isn't the QB's or the teams job to make sure they are legal. Brady could easily let some air out of the balls without a gauge, feel it in his hand and give a thumbs up. There is one person responsible for making sure the ball is legal, and that is the ref that checks it. If he failed to do his job properly the system falls apart. There was a reason the rule was written to have the refs check them.

The NFL now needs to put a rule in place. All game balls are checked before the game and logged. It's repeated at half time and the balls are brought back into league specifications.

And they should probably meet in the middle and make it so they have to be at 13 PSI with a +/- .5 PSI differential at half time. That and the NFL needs to now have a league mandated employee who is around the balls at all time.

Thanks again Pats. What's next up your sleeve?

So if the refs say, "We checked every ball with a gauge, and every one was in the range of 12.5-13.5 psi," you wouldn't believe them?

It's one thing to try and sneak the balls by the refs before the game. It's a completely different thing to **** with the balls after they've been approved.

NFL standard is preponderance of the evidence, though. Couple that with dire consequences, and we'll get this back in line.

One of the things I saw was that no gauge was used, that it was just a pressure test, which could be the guy squeezed it and said okay. But really, do we have enough details to know for sure when and what happened?

If it was just a squeeze test by the ref, and he let them past him, would you agree that it is his fault?

I'd probably believe that they believed it, but I wouldn't base punishing a team on it.

That said, I fully expect them to be punished.

They've intentionally not been releasing information until their investigation is complete. You're going to try to use their caution in releasing facts against them?
