I'm actually really afraid of this. Need to do it, hate that I do it now. In a great amount of fear that I'll fail.

I was encouraged to seek help from above and being a new believer I wasn't so sure.
However, I prayed about it and the rest is history.
At no time did I experience sickness or anything along those lines.

Prayer answered and then some.

So go walk around the block a couple times get some exercise. Keep busy make yourself tired then relax and go to sleep.

Its great but I do need to add a flavor to it to make it correct. PM me a time you are available and I'll talk with you either in our own thread or some other way where I can respond immediately to any questions you have. Theres quite a bit of info, but I have gotten my girlfriend, her brother, her sister in law, and her mom to successfully quit cigarettes.

It may get harder, but you know what? You didn't smoke yesterday, and that's an accomplishment. Now, let's expand on that some more. Take it a day at a time sir, you ARE moving closer to your goal.

Harder, for another week or so, then it'll just suck ass for yet another week, then you kinda learn how to deal w/ it, and that will start to fade after 3-4 weeks. If it were easy, very few would still be smoking.

I'll echo many others here, if I can quit (5.5 years now), ANYBODY can quit!!!

But...you may fail this time. It happens, a lot. Doesn't mean you failed, tho, just try again.

I quit smoking on. Feb 16th, 1997.i didn't know I was going to quit that day, and I remember vividly my last cigarette. I remember how I flicked it when I was done and how it hit the garage I was standing next too. Even in that moment, I had no idea it w my last.

A few months earlier, Halloween to be exact, a bunch of friends went to a haunted forest deal. Someone brought a friend of theirs I had never met. She was 25, and had never smoked, drank, drugs, nothing. We call her goodie too shoes.

After that night I never saw her again.

Th following Jan, she died.apparently in Nov she caught a cold and couldn't shake it. In Dec they told her she had lung cancer. Jan it was over. The news kind of shook me up. How w it possible if she didn't smoke that she got lung cancer at such an early age??? At that point, I had been smoking for 14 years and I was 28.

After i smoked my cigarette, I went back into the house I was staying at. I was staying with family and a few hours from home. As soon as I went into the house, I didn't feel good. It came over me like a tidal wave. Fever, body aches and the most intense pain in my chest. I had to stay with my family for two more days because I was too sick to travel. And when I finally did get home, I was off works for almost 2 weeks. The pain in my chest was amazing and I didn't smoke the entire time. I couldn't, and believe me, bronchitis never stopped me from smoking in the past.this without a doubt was the sickest I had ever been.

Th whole time, I thought about the girl. The girl who's name I didn't even remember and still don't. I believe my guardian angel put me in front of her that night because meeting her saved my life.

The other inspiration I had during that time, was the woman who smoked thru her neck. Debi was her name. She was all over TV in anti smoking campaigns. Her commercials were on all the time during my illness and after. She just died in Feb.

I haven't smoked a cigarette since. I went completely cold turkey and I have never cheated. Thanks to The girl, Debi and my guardian angel, I have been smoke free 15 years and counting ;-)

Harder, but it will get easier. It's the greatest gift you can ever give yourself. Keep strong and keep it up.

I used straws to help. I chewed on them when I was having a craving.
