"rumors are now circulating that Chiefs.. may be interested in Tim Tebow."

"rumors are now circulating" ... are you buying this?

http://www.isportstimes.com/articles...ity-chiefs.htm

The Kansas City Chiefs may have just agreed to a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to get QB Alex Smith, but they may not be done dealing just yet. Even though Alex Smith will clearly be the opening day starter in Kansas City, they are still in need of a backup in case Smith gets hurt. Because of that, rumors are now circulating that Chiefs coach Andy Reid may be interested in Tim Tebow.

Alex Smith lost his starting job in San Francisco due to injury. He may not be injury-prone, but he certainly is no stranger to being sidelined. If that happens, the Kansas City Chiefs desperately need a backup quarterback that will fit their scheme. Tim Tebow could be the perfect quarterback to come into KC and back him up.

The Chiefs cannot expect Alex Smith to throw the football 40 times a game. In fact, they would do best if they built their offense around a running game and let Smith become a game manager. Tim Tebow may not be able to make all of the throws, but he is more than capable of becoming a game manager.

Another problem with the Kansas City Chiefs is their inability to sell tickets and spark interest among the fan base. Kansas City was not very excited to hear that their team traded for Alex Smith, but trading for Tim Tebow would almost certainly help the team sell some tickets.

Not only does a Tim Tebow to the Kansas City Chiefs trade make sense, it would also be risk-free for Andy Reid. The New York Jets do not want anything to do with Tebow which means the Chiefs will be able to get him for a very low draft pick. KC could probably get him for a seventh or sixth round draft pick.

Look...we drafted him and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Our 2010 draft was better than 2009 so I was feeling better about the team. All I heard from a billion media sources was that he was working really hard on his QB skills. We had the lockout and I figured that the missed camp time would hurt him. No big deal, give the kid some time. So it's been a few years now and he just never got better. You can dig into the multiple possibilities of why he didn't get better but it comes down to this: Either he hasn't worked at it as hard as they say, or he just isn't going to get better.

With that being said, it was our Defense that was responsible for the AFC West title and it was our Head Coach's dogged conservatism that got us that playoff win. The 80 yard TD in OT was awesome. Bear in mind that it was a simple shallow crossing pattern to a gifted WR. The season as a whole was a great ride, and I enjoyed it as a Bronco fan. But don't pretend that the rest of the team didn't bust their asses off for 60(+) minutes week in and week out to make those two to five minute stretches of "Tebow Time" possible. And don't pretend that PITT wasn't limping into that game. If they'd given Rapistburger those horse tranqs in the first Q instead of at the half it could have very easily ended differently.

Cassell for Tebow really wouldn't be that bad of an idea to both free up cap and potentially convince him to play something he can actually do.
