"rumors are now circulating that Chiefs.. may be interested in Tim Tebow."
"rumors are now circulating" ... are you buying this?
http://www.isportstimes.com/articles...ity-chiefs.htm The Kansas City Chiefs may have just agreed to a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to get QB Alex Smith, but they may not be done dealing just yet. Even though Alex Smith will clearly be the opening day starter in Kansas City, they are still in need of a backup in case Smith gets hurt. Because of that, rumors are now circulating that Chiefs coach Andy Reid may be interested in Tim Tebow. Alex Smith lost his starting job in San Francisco due to injury. He may not be injury-prone, but he certainly is no stranger to being sidelined. If that happens, the Kansas City Chiefs desperately need a backup quarterback that will fit their scheme. Tim Tebow could be the perfect quarterback to come into KC and back him up. The Chiefs cannot expect Alex Smith to throw the football 40 times a game. In fact, they would do best if they built their offense around a running game and let Smith become a game manager. Tim Tebow may not be able to make all of the throws, but he is more than capable of becoming a game manager. Another problem with the Kansas City Chiefs is their inability to sell tickets and spark interest among the fan base. Kansas City was not very excited to hear that their team traded for Alex Smith, but trading for Tim Tebow would almost certainly help the team sell some tickets. Not only does a Tim Tebow to the Kansas City Chiefs trade make sense, it would also be risk-free for Andy Reid. The New York Jets do not want anything to do with Tebow which means the Chiefs will be able to get him for a very low draft pick. KC could probably get him for a seventh or sixth round draft pick. |

I'd be okay trading Cassel for Tebow and then moving him to H-back/emergency QB.
And hey - the media would actually talk about the Chiefs. |

Dorsey does not seem like the type that would want the hoopla thst follows Tebow. This makes zero sense. Tebow stinks.

Just had a mental image of one of those Chris Sembower "Posterized" things of Tebow and Andy with the caption "Zone Reid."

About as comforting to me as the thought of my grandmother in a bukkake video.

I don't think the Chiefs are coming to LA anytime soon. I think the Jags are the front runners. The Chargers and Rams could also be in play. Even though the chiefs aren't getting a lot of support right now, there are a lot of people in town that give a shit about the chiefs. I think that plus they are an old storied franchise keeps them from moving. You could move the Jags, and 5 years from now people will forget they ever played in Jacsonville. The LA Chiefs, that doesn't make any sense anyway. Quote:
A lot of stuff would have to go right for this to work though. Tebow would have to learn to play H-back well. Just because he has the build for it, doesn't mean he has the skills, mentality, or even desire. Another thing is you don't actually have tebow throw the ball much, it is just about the threat of the throw. Just run and run him until the guy is so open even tebow can't miss him. I dunno if it would work, but just the chance of it working is more valuable to the chiefs than Cassel. Last edited by 49er guy49; 03-01-2013 at 12:27 PM.. |
