My mid-east rant

This rant is on everyone coming to the US from the mid-east, over the last two years I have had to call on, an avg. of 5 customers a month who were born somewhere in the mid-east.

With out fail every sales call goes the same way; they want my equipment and services for free and don’t want to sign a contract.

They do not keep their word after an agreement is reached nor do they want to accept the terms of the contract they have reluctantly signed.

I had one guy want to call off a deal over a measly $24 over a two year contract……I pointed out to him he was pissing and moaning over a couple of pennies a day, didn’t care had to have that discount.

Worked out a great deal on 7 Shell stations, I gave them special pricing if they gave me all 7 Shell stations.

We put the system in the first one, the screwed me on the other 6.

Now I did get a good laugh at the tribe who screwed me on the Shell Stations, the Parvin and 29/35 Station got robbed shortly after the free system was put in place.

A couple of amateur thief’s backed a pick up through the store front in an attempt at stealing an ATM, fortunately for the owners the chain broke…..unfortunately the free security alarm did not trip and the video was of such poor quality it was worthless.

To make it even funnier, I called them a couple of days latter and asked if they were ready to put in a good system…..no they informed me the guy who put in the piece of crap was going to fix it for free……had to tell them free crap is still crap.

You should probably avoid Asians, Krauts, Jews, and Russians as well then...

Everyone I have talked to who has tried to do buisness with them is the same.

Now when I have to make a call on someone from the mid-east, I double the price I would normally charge, let them beat me down to what I would normally charge then when they still piss and moan I give them the name of the guy who installs the crap equipment and tell them I hope they don't get broke into.

The Mid- East types just want, want, want then don't want to pay the agreed upon price. Maybe they come from a culture that uses the barter system.

How about the Scots? Those buggers are tighter than a whale's ass in a snow storm in August or July.

I suspect that there are indeed some cultural differences with those who are immigrants from that area. The culture there is to fight and argue over every penny in a purchase, which may explain why nothing ever gets accomplished and they're a thousand years behind the rest of the world. I suspect that people of Middle Eastern origin who grew up in the U.S. don't have that attitude, but in the Middle East it's just part of life.

I went to Egypt on vacation back in 2001, and I despised that system of lengthy, protracted negotiations over every single little thing. It was such a pain in the neck that I just wouldn't buy stuff. Fortunately, restaurant meals were exempt from that system or I would've starved to death.

I remember one night in Luxor, we were walking to the ruins. Any time you stepped out of the hotel, you were harrassed by people trying to sell you stuff, and you just learned to ignore it. (It wasn't hard once you got used to it.) Anyway, a horse and buggy guy offered us a ride for five bucks or something and and we kept walking and then he offered four bucks and we kept walking and then three and then two, and at two we said, "Okay, Mister. You've got a deal." So we get in the buggy, and the horse knows the way there so the horse is walking and the guy just turns around and starts hammering us to give him more money. We had hoped to have a nice buggy ride and he just kept harrassing and harrassing and harrassing and I kept saying no and finally told him to turn around and shut up, but he never would. We just refused to acknowledge him, and gave him his two bucks when we got there and he was calling us names and all sorts of stuff. I kind of hope he eventually got killed in religious-based violence, though the horse seemed nice.
