Peacock exclusive playoff game is stupid

Bad move by the league. Quit being greedy and keeping your customers from watching your product.

Surely they wont put Mahomes in that game but who knows.

The nfl, nbc, mike tirico, peacock, florio, roger goodell can all go **** themselves

I hope the nfl fists themselves on these antitrust lawsuits
I hope the buffalo/kc obliterates these ratings. Which it will.

Imagine watching a bunch of dehydrated rioters at Woodstock and praising the event for booming water bottle sales.

The nfl and peacock win. Fans don’t. So they can both go **** themselces

It sounds like a huge win for peacock and the NFL. They managed to drive about 20 percent of the NFL audience away. How exclusive of them.

If you don't want to watch the Chiefs, don't watch them. Nobody cares.

I'm fine paying a small amount to watch my team, especially when the telecast was as good as it was.

If you paid for a month, you should use it. Make NBCU think they have you then BAM cut them off.

Most of the people complaining found an outside way of watching peacock. Even if that meant paying way more to support the local sports bar who got ****ed from the “small” several thousand dollar expense of carrying the game.

This is about way more than money.

I subscribed to peacock at the beginning of the season to watch SNF at home. I didn't notice a lot of difference between the Wild Card game and any other SNF game. I've actually seen Peacock perform worse on occasion, the stream dropping out and having to restart the app as one example. Probably happened once every 4 games or so. I did experience last night when they were going over starting lineups, the video froze and then the audio froze for between 20-30 seconds. There were a few moments when the definition got a little blurry, but they were fleeting (and actually something that happens with peacock probably every game). But you get stuff like this with streaming and some of it isn't even peacock's fault.

I'll be cancelling it next month because football is over with. But I'll definitely subscribe next season.

There is still a lot to process. Right now nbc pr owns the spin on the ratings until Nielsen responds on Tuesday. Of course it will be the biggest streamed event in history given the nfl has never streamed playoff games. I also think this would have dominated ratings for a free game and that the likely matchup between buffalo and kc will really show what ratings look like.

I don’t doubt the nfl and peacock did very well. I also have to think lots and lots of people did not tune into a game they otherwise would’ve watched if it was free

I thought the telecast was great and it sounds like it was a huge success. Look forward to more streaming games on different platforms so we can see who is the best.

I know this is TIC as usual, but as someone who actually wants the world to move more to streaming, I actually agree. It's been fun to see Amazon experiment and iterate with their alternative broadcasts (hosted, next gen stats, etc.), and YouTube has done some cool things with NFLST as well. I'd actually like to see more innovation in how we watch games, and linear TV just doesn't have the capability to do it.

If they really got 23 million they have to be doing cartwheels. Not sure it'll lead to long term success but that's a lot of people they got into their app. I really have no idea but I would bet they'd trade 23 million on their own app that they control over 30 million over cable and Dish and all that.
