And just think of where we would be if Greg McDermott had not turned us down for Iowa State............1, maybe 2 NCAA Championships? One is only left with their solemn thoughts in contemplating this, "what if"

So, what's the tie-breaker on the 4th seed if we were to lose on Saturday?

Tiebreakers - The first criteria in the breaking of ties in the standings shall be head-to-head competition of tied teams. The following procedure will be used to establish the championship seeds if ties exist. (For tiebreaking procedures teams will be grouped in two divisions based upon established guidelines. Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Nebraska are in one division and Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech are in the other division.)

(a) If two teams are tied and they are from different divisions, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the higher seed.
(b) If two teams are tied and they are from the same division, the team with an advantage in head-to-head competition shall be the higher seed.
(c) If two teams remain tied, there will be a comparison of overall record against division teams only (10 divisional games).
(d) If two teams remain tied, there will be a comparison of record against the highest ranked team(s) (based upon Conference winning percentage) in the division and proceeding through in order of divisional record.
(e) If two teams remain tied, there will be a *comparison of record against the highest ranked team(s) (based upon Conference winning percentage) in the opposite division and proceeding through in order of divisional record.
(f) If two teams remain tied, the higher seed will be chosen by draw.
(g) If three or more teams are tied, ties among divisional opponents will be broken first by using steps (b) through (f) and the head-to-head results will be used to break ties between non-divisional teams. When three or more teams from the same division are tied step (b) will consist of a mini- round robin among the tied teams. At any point during the process of breaking ties among three or more teams that the number of tied teams are reduced to two, head-to-head competition would be used as the primary tie-breaker, followed-by steps (c) through (f). Once a team is eliminated from a multi-team comparison, it is dropped from further comparisons.

OK, if we lose to ISU on Saturday, we finish 9-7. Only two other teams have a shot at 9-7. MU and CU. If MU beats KU, they would be the 4 seed, no matter what CU does. They would have a better record against the top North Team vs what CU has. If CU wins out (@ISU and home against NU), and MU and KSU both lose, they get the 4 seed over KSU because of their sweep against KSU.

I think I have that correct.

KSU fans should have given Wooly more time, he was a solid X's and O's coach, he just needed more talent.

I don't think so:
If all three finish 9-7 step B consists of a mini-round robin where CU would hold a 3-1 record over MU and KSU. CU would be the #4, MU #5, KSU #6.

If MU and KSU are each 9-7 and CU is 8-8, MU would have the edge with a 6-4 record vs the north compared to 5-5 for KSU

Bottom line, we just need to beat the #12 team in the conference in our house on saturday.

Worst we can do is a 6 seed.

Best we can do is a 3 seed.

The question was about the #4 seed, if we lost. I think I said the same thing you did. CU get's it if they win out and MU loses, and MU get's it with a win against KU. KSU only get's #4 with a loss to ISU, if CU doesn't sweep and MU loses to KU.

The bolded part is incorrect. If we're all 9-7, Colorado beats Mizzou and KSU in the mini round robin.
