Air Show!
Anyone else going to the Kansas city Aviation Expo this weekend? It's the Thunderbirds this year. I'd prefer the Blue Angles, but it should still be cool.
I'm looking forward to it. Haven't been in 10 years or more. The weather doesn't sound bad, for August. I wish they had an A-10 this year. I love those ugly bastards. http://www.kcairshow.com/ |

That too.
Speaking of cheap, I got my ticket online for 12 bucks... and both my boys get in free. (under 12) They don't seem all that excited, but I don't think they realize what they're in for just yet. The youngest is obsessed with the military channel. Loves tanks, battle ships, fighter jets, and all that... they're gonna love it. |

I love aviation. Soaring through the clouds, touching the infinite blue with the palm of your hand, spelling naughty words with contrails ...
Still, if God had meant for us to fly, he'd have given us each a staff of stewardesses and a spiffy uniform. FAX |

The Thunderbirds are terrific. I saw them once in Misawa Japan and once out in Utah and they put on an amazing show. I've heard great things about the Blue Angels but I've never seen them in person.

Just got back. Man, that was a blast. Saw F-15 Eagle, and F/A 18 Super Hornet tech Demos, and the Thunderbirds. Those things just scream. I could feel the sound in my chest.
I'm burnt to a crisp, but it was a blast. I'll go again next year. |

You're right about that. They put on a hell of a show. (long one too) They were so precise, it almost didn't seem real.

To be honest, I made a comment to my girl about how the economy must really be hurting because this was the least active air show I've witnessed in the 6 years I've been here (in the sky). My only complaints with the Thunderbirds is the color contrast, they were harder to see in the sky than the Blue Angels.

I have no idea why they'd make those expensive fighter planes difficult to see from the ground.
