I find it funny. That little comic that was posted a few pages back is 100% accurate.

They need to focus on having a very affordable console instead and invest a lot into games. The WiiU is too expensive for a GamePad where nobody takes advantage of the touchscreen beyond "you can play on this."

A normal, solid controller and a price point at $200 with a solid library of games would make a huge difference for them. They do need to step into the 21st century and work more on online titles. I'd pay $200 for a Nintendo system if it was solid and had a robust Metroid online community.
So much this.

They have enough games on the Wii U right now to make it a console worth owning. Super Mario 3D World, Incredible 101, Pikmin 3, Lego City Undercover, Zelda Wind Waker HD, plus all the third party titles that most other consoles have. I'll agree that the price is too high but it is all due to that Gamepad. That Gamepad costs almost just as much to build as the system I'm betting and they've said from the get go that you can get a second gamepad but they have yet to even sell them in stores. You don't charge $100 per controller, you just don't. I'm not saying they need to throw a bluray player into the mix but they need to stop with the gimmicks, get back to making consoles to just play games. You can throw in all the Netflix Hulu and Youtube apps you want but what will bring Nintendo back is an actual console. I find that my library of Wii U games is one of the few things I enjoy most about my system, that and the second screen feature. Everything else I bypass too frequently.

There's a pretty morose article about the future of the Wii U in the latest Game Informer. Kind of sad really. It remains to be seen if Nintendo can turn things around.

On a side note, there's also an article about Monolith's upcoming next-gen Tolkein game, set in Mordor. Open world, unprecedented radiant AI, it looks intense.

Ya know, I am actually surprised how much the xbox controller has actually been altered. Just from a naked glance it looks like it virtually the same with very little change.

I don't know if that's a surprise?

Up here in Chicago, everywhere is out of both the one and the ps4.
Target stores are getting a few units, like 2 to 4 every couple of days and they are gone almost immediately as people spot them coming from the back to be restocked and then just following the cart to electronics. That's how I got one. Don't know about the Ps4 as much as I haven't been trying to find one. But I saw last week Best Buy closest to my place had 2 sitting there late Wednesday night, and was in South Bend over the weekend, and the Best Buy there on Sunday morning about an hour after the store opened had 3 ps4 and 1 xbox.

The reality is that it's really not "available" for a majority of people except for being at a location that just got a few units in stock and those don't last more than 20 minutes probably at most. Maybe there are some pockets around the country that haven't moved some of their stock as quickly, but that's an aberration.

What's sad is I mentioned I found my One by going around to Target locations when they unload their daily shipments at around 4-5pm each day. I missed out getting one at 4 different stores because they got bought up almost immediately. I was finally able to get one when I went to a store on the South side in a rather poor economic area that I called to see if they had any available.
The guy working there told me that they got 2 in their daily shipment, but they hadn't been unloaded yet to put on the floor, and it would be probably another 20-30 minutes before they could get to them to put them out on the floor for sale.
I hopped in the car, and it was during rush hour traffic hoping to get one. I got there about 40 minutes later and honestly figured they'd already be sold.

Ended up talking with the same guy who recognized my voice and he was like, all gone! Then he smiled and said you lucked out we have 1 left. Turns out, another person was wanting to get it, and at checkout decided that they couldn't get it right now because it was too much for what they could afford.

I live in the burbs of Chicago and the Xbone was easier to get on launch night without a preorder. I went to a Best Buy near me a little after midnight for both launches and the PS4's were gone in no time and there were a lot of Xbones for those without a preorder. I imagine they sold out of their stock of both, but it took an hour or two for the Xbone where the PS4 was gone within minutes of midnight. Both launches have been a success though.

I was just at Target. They had one XBone, I'm assuming from either yesterday or today's truck. No PS4's though.

Our bestbuy got 96 total xbox ones on launch, they got 36 ps4s.

I am not saying that was country wide, but you can do the math on why places might of taken longer to sell out.

Of the 96, they said 30ish were preorders.
